Rivers of Grace – Our Vision: Renewal (Part 2)
Intro: Every church needs to answer: “Why do we exist?” What is our prophetic destiny?
Rivers of Grace Vision: M.O.R.E. - Mercy, Outreach, Renewal, Education
Rivers of Renewal (Revival, Restoration of Primitive –New Testament Christianity)
We desire Rivers of Renewal flowing in us and through us as we surrender to the Holy Spirit. (Ezekiel 37:1-12; John 7:37-38; Acts 1:8; 2:1-18)
The River of God flows from His Throne bringing conversion, healing, and life wherever it goes. Technology, theology, and Christian psychology can’t replace the supernatural power of Spirit. People need to be refreshed, released, and renewed in God’s presence and a breakthrough in their relationship with Him.
We have yet to see a church full of people who have too much supernatural power in their lives. Many of us feel pitifully weak, and we desperately desire more. We strive for an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit is given Lordship over our gathering. We are seeking more power. However, seeking raw power alone is witchcraft. We are seeking more of the Power Broker, our all-powerful God. We want to see Him manifest Himself in any way He sees fit.
Jonathan Edwards (1740 Great Awakening) put a huge emphasis on the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of those who had experienced revival. There should be a relationship between the invisible action of the H.S. on the heart and the visible bodily effects of His manifested Presence. He said it should be a life-engaging encounter with God Almighty that changes your focus of attention, your priorities, your motivation, and lifestyle.
To be renewed has a beginning which turns deadness or depression into "an inward, sweet delight". Thereafter there is a thirst for an on-going experience of God's grace, a habitual drinking from the River that maintains revival in a person's heart.
2 Tim. 1:7 You've got to tend the fire to be on fire and ready to fire!

Heart Conditions of Revival:
- God's Presence so near you get lost in God and become hardly conscious of anything else.
- The sense of God Almighty is MY God.
- Surrender and dedication to the Lord's service for His glory.
- A greater sense of humility.
- A disposition of honor others - nothing to prove.
- A greater aversion to judging others.
- Greater love for people: the family of God AND the lost.
- The Bible becomes a new Book as the Holy Spirit shines new light on it.
