Rivers of Grace Philosophy - Rivers of Mercy
Rivers of Mercy flowing through us to the sick, orphans, prisoners, poor, and the institutionalized.
Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV) I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me. King Jesus says, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
James 1:27 (NIV) Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Working with needy people is messy business. There is always risk involved. However, the risk can never be removed from acts of faith motivated by the love and compassion of God. Therefore we are determined never to be too busy that we can't take time to pray for the sick or visit hurting people. We are determined that people and their needs are more important than the mechanics of administration. People are more important than the success of programs.
As God places the resources in our hands, we will channel them toward the natural needs of people. This will not be intended to bate people into the kingdom. Freely we have received from God. Freely we will give. (Matthew 10:8)
Therefore we are in the process of forming Rivers of Mercy Foundation. This foundation will administrate the funds and resources for humanitarian efforts.
