Healing the Sick Part 5

1. You can't live in sin (devil's workshop) and expect the best from God.
  1. Go and sin no more. John 8:1-11 You will get caught! God gives space to repent. (Rev. 2:21)
  2. Proverbs 3:5-7 Amplified Bible health to your nerves, sinews, and marrow if you fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
 
2. Who's faith? Yours, the sick person, the friend or relative, or God's sovereign hand?
  1. Paul saw the paralytic had faith. (Acts 14:7-11; 18-20)
  2. Father who brought his demonized son. (Mark 9:17-18; 21-24)
  3. Philippines: A father dragged his daughter in a box for 4 miles.
  4. Faith in his name has made this man whole. (Acts 3:16) He got more than he expected!
  5. God's sovereign hand. John 9:1-5 Heaven touches earth at the command of God. Often unexpected circumstances lead to the demonstration of heaven touching earth.
  6. Do  your best BUT you might have the wrong name, wrong affliction, and God can heal the right thing!
  7. If God does nothing except in answer to prayer, man becomes god and He is man's servant.
 
3. Body of Christ 1 Corinthians 12:11 resident or transient?
  1. Specialist but without limiting God. legs, barrenness, etc.
  2. More you do it, the 'better' you will get. I will study god-craft. I will exercise my faith.
  3. Just because I haven't done it, doesn't mean I can't do it!
  4. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 Administration: verses on a paper, spoken out.
  5. Don't knock it if it works! As long as it leads you to Jesus. Deuteronomy 13:1-3
 
4. Commanding word. Jesus spoke to the devil or the disease.
  1. Jesus spoke to the person or the afflicted area. Mark 3:5; Matthew 12:9-13
  2. Peter: another paralytic! Acts 9:32-35
  3. Peter raised a dead. He prayed, then commanded. Acts 9:40-42
 
5. When not to pray?
  1. God is saying something else. Tell them to wait.
  2. Some people do not want prayer because they will lose their income and/or privileges! Turn in your handicap sign!
  3. Tell them to be quiet and receive. 
  4. Don't let them go into details. Sympathy kills recovery. Sympathy kills faith.
 
6. Healing from a distance Psalm 107:20 He sent forth his word and healed them.
  1. Canaanite woman came for her demon possessed daughter. Matthew 15:21-28;
  2. Man came on behalf of his servant: Say the Word and it's done. Luke 7:1-10
  3. Handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick  Acts 19:11-12
      4.  Get out your cell phone! Call someone Now who needs healing and pray for them.
