 Healing the Sick  Part 3

    1. Am I taking care of myself as much as I know how? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 I am God's temple.
  • Pay attention to what I am eating.
  • Better to build a fence at the top of the cliff than to build a hospital at the bottom of the cliff! Doctors? "Preventive Medicine"? Sanitation? This is 2016, not 1850! No 5 second rule...

   2. Am I someone who does not limit God? 1 Corinthians 2:1-4
  • Am I declaring a clear gospel message with healing and miracles as a normal part of my life?
  • "Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal." Earth has no sickness that heaven can't heal.
  • Jesus is the Name above ever other name.

    3. Do I believe healing is for today?
  • Healing is for my church family, my friends, anyone, and for me?
  • Am I willing to take a risk by laying hands on anyone, even myself?

"Faith does not deny a problem exists. Faith denies a problem a place of influence." Bill Johnson

   4. Doubt and unbelief come from the devil's fiery tarts playing on your insecurity. Pray quickly before it sets in.
  • Faith is based on God's nature and ability. It is not faith in my faith or faith in my perfection.
  • 1 Peter 4:10 We use the gift we receive to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

   5. Does sickness come from the hand of God or the devil? Jesus was not sent here to create sickness and problems. (Acts 10:38; Luke 4:18; 1 John 3:8)
  • Genesis 3:14-21 The fall of Adam affected man's spirit, soul, and body as well as the earth and the creatures in it.
  • John 5:14 Stop sinning or something worse might happen to you. John 9:1-5 No sin involved. No explanation giving.
  • John 10:10 Thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The devil brings affliction.

   6. Do I believe it is God's will to heal every time? Mark 1:40-42
  • Do I believe Jesus will heal anyone, anywhere, anytime regardless of race, religion, politics, or sexual preference?
  • 1 Corinthians 12:9 "gifts of healing" Matthew 10:7-8 ... freely you have received, freely give.

   7. Isaiah 53:3-6 is connected with Matthew 8:16-17 Is there healing in the Atonement of Christ?
Note Isaiah 53:5NIV By His wounds we are healed. 1 Peter 2:24-25
There is a difference between the provision (at the Cross) and the manifestation. Jesus took it,
so there is no sense in both of us having it.

   8. Do you believe in praying more than once?
         A. "I have never know a person who was a success who was not persistent."
         B. If one way of ministering healing does not work, do not give up. Try several ways.
         C. "If one way (confessing Scripture) does not work, try another way. This does not indicate unbelief. It indicates intelligence." Francis Hunter
         D. The commanding word. Speaking to the disease or the afflicted area. Jesus spoke to the illness.

Here is where we hang out...
